It will be a great help.
thankyou.

Sir, I am an online student and can’t come to the centre. Understand this situation, how can I connect with you?

Hi sir,
I am a working professional and I have been planning to prepare and give the exam from the last two years. Have gone through the basic books a couple of times. But however due to work pressure I am not able to stick to a routine and it leads to loosing confidence and ultimately to not attempting the paper. Can you be of some help and guide me through?

Hi Manya,

Ideally you have to give atleast one test per week (100 questions test) and solve atleast 20 questions every day on the topics you have covered. It will help you to understand the concepts clearly.  To devise strategy pls go through this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hi_STuN4N50&t=563s
you will come to know what to study, what not to study and how to study

sir can u suggest how to deal with environment questions as recently despite preparing hard for it , many questions came as surprise  in pt 2020.

Hi Rizwan.

Strategy

1. Cover basics through Shankar
2. Analyze previous year paper - you will get some areas where UPSC asking questions again and again - National Parks. WLS, Species, Pollution related concepts , Imp acts ( WPA, 1972, Forest Rights Act etc.), climate change mitigation strategies. try to do little bit research on those topics.
3. Do selective reading of current affairs.

It's my 1st attempt in 2021 Student of IPM ..messedup all tests (but attempted on time) .
Am not studying at all ...I cant express what iam feeling exactly ..but something like "VOID" . Not able to visualise anything neither daily schedule - not weekly - not monthly. After so many months of haphazard preparation..now am neither motivated nor depresssed ..it's just that am wasting week after week preparing nothing significant. Ex- I plan let's finish Modern history in 10 days ..on 10th day what happens ..had read only 1 chap and still planning on modern history.

Sir,how to manage time .Sometime i spend my whole day in study and unable to giving test,as i think it is more important to learn first and although i am confused that what should i do first.

Make me know sir an ideal strategy.

Good evening sir
Last year according to my study I was fairly confident about clearing prelims 2020, scored 60 marks only. I had solved numbers of tests of insight IAS and old year paper. Right now I am studying for mains and writing IPM tests.
Sir, please suggest tips to manage prelims and mains simultaneously, also sir suggest me strategy about clearing prelims.
I had solved innumerable numbers of tests and questions, and revised number of times, every time I corrected my previous mistakes, despite of that right now I don't know what it takes to clear prelims. Is there any way I can get mentorship from Insights IAS.
Thankyou Sir

Hi Piyusha, Pls reach out to us on telegram. Id - @thanmayMS. We will discuss about it.

Yes. You can clear provided you devise a clear roadmap and strategy. one need to keep sources and strategy simple and multiple revision is needed.

Hi, Current affairs from June 2020 would be suffice.  You have to go through NCERT's (Selective) and Standard books, there is no shortcut to it. Once you done with this, try to skip not so important topics and concentrate on focus areas. How to understand what to study and what not to study? Pls go through this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hi_STuN4N50&t=560s

Hello sir
Can u suggest a strategy regarding geography for prelims
Beacause it is more factual and more number of places and names to remember!!
How to go through it?

Hi, if you go through previous year papers - mapping questions can be divided into two themes

1. Countries surrounding important seas and rivers draining into it. (Try to go through the map)
2. Imp places like kiruk, alepo which were largely in news (Source - Hindu International Page)

Try to work on these lines

Good evening sir.

I have the following major doubts regarding the upcoming time.

1. I am a student of InstaClasses batch 2 and currently I personally am at the lowest level of my preparation, as I feel. A LOT of syllabus still needs to be covered and multiple revisions seem a distant dream now.
2. I am trying to stick to the class schedule and putting my best foot forward, but still that’s grossly inadequate.
3. Whatever and however much I try daily, I am not able to manage my time like I ideally should be, due to certain issues at my home and my time management problems. How do I get past all that sir?
4. I am not a pro at answering questions and lack intense revisions and therefore feel that I should start attempting PT mocks from Insights. But that takes a whole lot of time and I am not able to juggle between covering classes and giving mock. I am not a newbie in the preparation and therefore I feel I should start now. But I’m caught between yes or no. How should I proceed sir?
5. My optional is geography and it too is hanging on my head.

Sir, I am trying to do a lot of things but I also understand I shouldn’t be putting my feet in numerous boats. What and how should I proceed from here, given the fact I really wish to qualify in this very attempt and I have limited study hours of max 9 hours.

Hi, could you pls come and meet us at Insights OGP Centre. So that we can discuss about it.

No, two states cannot be your home state. UPSC gives option to select the home state in your case.

hi sir, how to improve time management in exam (especially when questions are out of the blue and require you to think very analytically like in prelims 2020)

thank you

Hi, Time management can be improved through following measures:

1. Comprehend the essence of question as soon as possible. Ideal Scenario - At first reading itself.
2. Concentrate/focus on keywords, nouns etc. in questions.
3. Try to use elimination technique.
4. Don't waste too much time in few questions, move on and hunt for easy and medium questions. - Do rounds
5. Try to solve mocks in 1hour 45 minutes.

Thank you
