Hello Jyoti,

Please refer to earlier posts , i have answered regarding environment preparation approach.

Sir how can I prepare for science and technology and environment section of the syllabus for both prelims and mains. I don't have a science background so it becomes difficult for me to mug up these topics. Please suggest me how to manage.

1.Hlo sir, sir I'm relying on Vision Current affairs magazine for Environment, do I've to refer any more thing??
2. From which month shd I do the Current affairs, From January 2020 or June 2020??

Hello khushi,

Along with  reading any  one magazine for current affairs(environment section), i would like u to go for solving multiple questions from practice test's and past year paper's. Practicing multiple mcq's  will actually help to  eliminate the options in examination hall .
U should complete atleast past one year current affairs . If Time permits then go till Jan 2020. But remember multiple revision's  and solving multiple questions is the key.

Hello sir please suggest a strategy for Internal security in mains perspective sir for 2021!!

Prudviraj,
In  Gs-3  Mains Internal security the questions(3 to 4) are mainly focused upon Cyber security, Border management, Extremism(Insurgency, Naxalism etc) and legislation's like PMLA, UAPA etc.
For these topics first analyse the  previous questions and depending upon the demand of these questions and its respective area (i.e - Syllabus point)  make brief point wise notes. It should include definitions, diagrams, substantiation by MHA report , Current status and trend etc.Simultaneously keep tab upon Current Affairs through newspaper. If time permits watch RSTV discussions and add those points to your base notes.
Internal security is high scoring  area and can help in  fetching  good score.

Hello Sir

I want to know how to memorize the national parks and sanctuaries asked in prelims every year. It is a humungous task to remember all of them. I  preparing for both prelims ias and ifos.

Study region wise

let me elaborate with example of North east Indian states
1. see states
2. see mountain ranges, rivers(major one especially mentioned in ncert)
3. see Biosphere reserves
4. see national parks
5. do simultaneously mapping on rough India maps( u can get it from any book shop)
6. Refer to past year Upsc papers to  see more NP,  WLS mark those on map n atlas. See some of them on Google.
7. Revise..revise..revise.. and solve questions
8. It will help to remember

Note : There is no need of mugging up all national parks and wildlife sanctuary . But try to know at least all NP, WLS asked by UPSC itself from 2013-2020.

For environment section for upsc prelims 2021 should I focus more on shankar static part of envt. Or should i give more focus on current.  Also do we need to learn all national parks, wildlife sanctuary etc and is there any one compiled source you can suggest for these things ie national parks and associated things?

Dear Prabhat, u should be very  thorough with the basics firstly and simultaneously prepare for current affairs of environment. Yes surely static part question weightage is reducing but we cannot ignore it..as upsc likes to give lot of surprises. Current affairs can be handled and memorized by solving current environment questions.
Regarding NP, WLS remembering all of them is difficult task. but if u study one region per week , example North East- All Biosphere reserve, National parks, see few important Endangered, Critically Endangered Species and map those on atlas revise it , also u can discuss with your friends then u can remember most of them. Then in next week move to new area like South Indian States, then North India etc. Also compulsorily see past year's  NP, WLS ,Species asked by Upsc from 2013-2020.This way u can compile most of NP in 4 weeks on rough empty maps and atlas.
